Dragonfire Resolve: Hunting, Breedmarks and Reign Resets

Resolve is the energy used for hunting encounters in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. It regenerates over time. Wild Dragon encounters are an important Breedmark source, linking hunting to Habit progression. Resolve itself resets between Reigns.

What uses Resolve?

The official map guide describes Resolve as hunting energy that refills over time. Encounters are non-player enemies; attacking one does not require a connected tile, and defeating it does not give you ownership of that tile. Some need multiple armies.

That makes hunting a different decision from expanding your territory. Check the target and your available armies before committing. This guide does not establish a numerical regeneration rate, maximum balance or cost formula.

Why hunting matters for Habits

Wild Dragon encounters provide Breedmarks matched to their breed and have breed-specific weaknesses, according to the official guide. Breedmarks are one part of Habit progression; the appropriate Rarity Cores are also required.

A practical approach is to identify the Habit you want to improve, check its required materials, and then inspect relevant encounters. This is planning advice, not a claim that one encounter is always the best use of Resolve. See the Habit guide and worked upgrade before choosing a target.

How to plan around regeneration

Confirmed: Resolve replenishes over time. Practical inference: if you lack enough for a chosen hunt, waiting is an option to check before spending other resources. Read the current in-game balance and encounter requirements; no fixed waiting schedule is supported by the source.

Inspect the Wild Dragon's weakness and whether you can field sufficient armies. A breed weakness is not the same as the troop counter cycle; do not substitute one for the other. The formation guide helps you check roles and support, but does not simulate the encounter.

Does Resolve carry into the next Reign?

No. The official Campaign guide lists Resolve among resources that reset. Breedmarks, Rarity Cores and Habits are durable. This supports planning useful hunts before a transition, but not spending blindly on targets that do not help your roster.

Check your World's timer and the reset comparison. Wyrmwise's New Campaign Reset only updates saved dragon Levels; it does not spend or manage in-game Resolve.
