Game of Thrones: Dragonfire · Getting started

How to Get More Dragons and Dragonfire Keys

Dragonfire Keys open Dragon Chests, which award Dragon Relics. Official support also identifies Personal Campaign Goals as one source of additional keys. Check current in-game goals and event screens for active earning routes because availability can change.

Campaign Goal rewards and Stage rewards have different deadlines

For Faction and Personal Campaign Goal rewards, reach Stronghold Tier 10 before the Reign ends. Eligible rewards arrive in your mail at the start of the next Campaign. Stage rewards follow a separate instruction: claim them before the current Campaign finishes.

These are the requirements in the official Campaign guide. Do not interpret the Stage claiming deadline as the delivery date for Campaign Goal rewards. Check both reward screens when preparing for a transition.

Dragonfire Keys, Chests and Relics

The official glossary says Dragonfire Keys are used to open Dragon Chests, and Dragon Chests provide Dragon Relics. Relics are the collection pieces used in dragon progression. These items are connected, but a key is not itself a guaranteed new dragon.

Avoid treating a community drop-rate claim as fact unless the game publishes the rate for the exact chest you are opening. This guide does not publish an invented average number of keys per unlock.

Where to look for more keys

The official Campaign guide explicitly names Personal Campaign Goals as a source of additional keys. Check Personal Goals and the Stronghold Tier requirement above. Campaign Goal rewards are delivered at the next Campaign start; Stage rewards must be claimed before the current Campaign ends.

The official dragon guide also identifies Chapter Quests, personal and faction Campaign Stage objectives, and limited-time activities as key sources. Other offers and events can change. Use the current in-game Event, reward and shop screens as the authority for what is available on your World today. A route shown in an older video may no longer be active or may have different conditions.

Keys and dragon progress survive a Reign reset

The official durable-items list includes Dragonfire Keys, dragons, Dragon Eggs, Dragon Star Rank, Habits and Relics. That means you do not need to spend keys merely because a Reign is ending.

Temporary campaign resources follow different rules. Read the Campaign Reset guide before a transition and recheck the publisher's current list.

What to do after unlocking a dragon

  1. Add the dragon to your roster with its actual Stars and Habit levels.
  2. Check its positive and negative troop affinities.
  3. Read the active Command, Vanguard and unlocked Habits.
  4. Compare its role and placement against the dragons already committed to your armies.
  5. Only upgrade immediately if you can identify the formation it improves.
